RE: Gulfstream conquest 6319dk VS the Fourwinds Kodiak 34H

Gulf Stream is built on a heavier chassis.
LINK
Not necessarily. If he is looking at a GAS model it will come on the Kodiak Chassis from both companies.

RE: Branson?

ABC is one of the better campgrounds. They should not be full. But best to make sure that no rallies going on at the time you want to be there. We made reservations for shows at the campground office.

RE: Flying J Changing Loyalty Program Again?

Got a letter from Flying J today. 1 cent is back on if using RV card at RV pumps. In order to get discount and cash price at truck pumps you need cash, pre-approved check or a TAB Master or Debit Card.
Purchasing food or merchandise will give additional savings at the pumps. There is supposed to be a brochure at Flying J stores with this information.

Great pictures.
Brings back old memories of when our kids were young. Order the chicks, Wait about a couple of weeks and the post office is calling every 1/2 hour to make sure you come and pick them up soon. :B

RE: Boy do I need help!

Before trying to replace the furnace do all the checks in the Suburban manual linked above. Ours was repairable with just cleaning the contacts on igniter board. Just pull front of furnace fan motor assembly off. This will give you access to board and other components that make furnace work.
Unless there is rust or corrosion furnace should not need to be replaced.

RE: Some kind of crud on back of C

During our trip last winter to AZ and back. We picked up something that looked like tar. Did not clean up easy. Still not sure what it was. But it was all over toad and rear of MH. Used a gel type bug and tar remover purchased at Wal-Mart. Removed the marks without any damage to finish on either vehicle.

RE: Need to Know ASAP: How do you open A&E awning?

Easest way is to ask a fellow camper with same awning.
Here is a link to some instructions. Basic RV Awning Instructions.

RE: DURAMAX DIESEL QUESTION - K&N FILTER KIT

There is one K&N product I would recommend if your truck does not have one. K&N Filter Minder.

RE: DURAMAX DIESEL QUESTION - K&N FILTER KIT

Lots of better upgrades to put on a Duramax than a K&N filter. Checkout Diesel Place for info on filter upgrades.

RE: nervous pullling toad

Tow the Toad. We have only traveled a couple of times without the toad. Ended up wishing we had towed it along. If you are worried. Stop and check it every few miles until you feel comfortable about it being back there.

RE: Oxygenic shower head

I guess I did not read the instructions either. Just put it together and used without any problems. Our is about a year old now. Use it before doing any of the mods suggested. You may find it saves so much water and still gives a great shower that no additional mods are needed.

RE: 35 or 39, that is the question

Our 23,000 lbs rig and toad has averaged 10 mpg over 30,000 miles. Staying close to 60 mph. Speed is the killer of MPG. Save the high speed for cycles and cars.

RE: 35 or 39, that is the question

ok, so we're ready to buy our RV that we are gonna go full timing in for a year or two. there are two that we like and we're on the fence about which one to get.
Big difference in a Endura and Endura Max. Especially for full timing. I know others do it in small RV's. Is there a reason why you are looking at toy haulers?
The Gasser will get about 6 to 8 mpg. The diesel may get 10 mpg. But if you are going to load it up probably not.

RE: 35 or 39, that is the question

GS does not make a 35C. Are you sure of the model number? Numbers should be something like my Endura 6340. Check out GS Conquest site for brochures from previous years. Literature Archive
I believe you are correct about your Gas/Diesel concerns IMHO.

RE: Fuse for steps on 2007 Dutchmen Super C

On our GS the steps are run off the chassis battery. Look under the hood or under the passenger side dash panel. On second thought my 2004 model has all circuit breakers under the dash. The MH also has a group of fuses and relays near the pump for the slides.
We had intermittent problems with our steps. After using the manual trouble shooting section. Found door switch was bad. Replaced and have not had a problems since.

RE: weight distribution

Had a portable RV scale company stop by my place to weigh ours.
Front left 3,000 lbs. Front right 2,850 lbs total 5,850 lbs
Rear left 7,025, Rear right 6,900 lbs. Total 13,925. Thats 425 lbs over weight on rear axle. MH was loaded with full fuel, water, camping supplies and etc. Water is 100 gallons. Don not need that much when traveling. Have cut water down to 20 gallon. Which drops rear weight by 600 lbs. MH is in signature below.

RE: vent rattle down the road

What type of vent do you have. Here is a link to Ventline vents.
Our MH has model V2111. There are 2 little that are use to hold flapper closed when driving down the road. If I forget to closeit. It makes a terrible noise.

RE: full hookups in southern Michigan?

Might be a good time to look into Passport America. Some nice campgrounds on their list for southern MI.
With high fuel prices some campgrounds are waving their rules to get you to stay.
